Emigration to the USA

In America a lot of people have European origins like my host family.

The Maternal grand -parents emigrated during World War 2 because of the war and because they were Jewish.
They were from Anvers in Belgium then they went to Cannes and next they spent 6 months in Cuba.

The grand father was a jeweller (its “easy to transport diamonds”). He had made a suit case with a hidden compartment in which he hid his diamonds. Then he went to Cuba where he didn’t declare his diamonds (because the government was corrupted). Finally, he entered the USA where he declared them to be able to live there.

The paternal grand parents were American. Far in the genealogy tree we can find German origins.
